Painting Tutorials- Watch My Rosette Unfold

I know; you’ve seen a tutorial before. Yes even a fabric painting tutorial so what the big deal with painting on cloth? Here’s the big deal- painting on cloth or fabric has sooo many benefits and applications but even if it wasn’t a fun or a potentially income producing activity who could resist such a scrumptious looking art?

When I learned how to paint over 2 decades ago, my kids wore painted clothing almost 7 days a week. If it wasn’t a cute pair of painted sneakers it was a boat or a fish on a tee shirt or a neck tie or just an array of shapes and colors. You see I had boys so I couldn’t paint the girly outfits. Those came later after I opened my store.

How I wish I had access to painting tutorials back then, life would have been so much easier. I would not have bought all the wrong paints and placed them on the wrong fabrics and watch them flake of my garments after the first washing. No, back then I didn’t have a computer much less the internet so I virtually taught myself through trial and error.

Anyway I have this short painting tutorial I wanted to share with you just for you to see how easy it is to paint on cloth with texture. If you can paint on cloth then you can apply this art to clothing, shoes, hats and purses. You can paint on a lot more than that really but my specialty is beautiful fabrics so that’s what I like to focus on.

In this brief tutorial made for students participating in my free ecourse I demonstrate how to paint a rosette flower. This is just one of my simple tropical flowers that can be painted on a cloth surface. I don’t spend time going into the step-by-step details as I do in our membership painting tutorials but this is a quick glance for you DIY’ers who enjoy a little peek into how it was made.

I could almost hear the whispers now…I can’t do that. Well, just so you know- I believe you can. In just about every live class I’ve taught there were a handful of people who told me not to expect much out of them as they were first time art students and would not get my techniques right away. Not so; within the first few minutes they were painting leaves and squealing with pleasure. Within the first hour you should see the painted flowers.

How much more you would get it with continuous access to the video painting tutorials!

The squeals turned into uncontrollably giggles. Honestly, the joy and satisfaction experienced just took them by surprise. So you see my style painting has very little to do with experience and talent and a lot to do with getting good instruction. I hope I’m inspiring you to jump in wholesale and paint the world around you beautiful.

C’mon don’t keep all that beauty you have on the inside to yourself…let your creativity flow.
